The Arrow Always Points North

In Uncategorized on June 12, 2011 at 12:59 am

The last couple of weeks have been so hectic I’ve had to throw my blog to the wolves and forget about making jewelry. I’ve been hustling to find a new job since my artistic endeavors certainly don’t bring the money to pay rent. Admittedly I may have “polished” up my job skills beyond my capabilities( no, I don’t know how to use excel but if you gave me a job I’d learn how in a heartbeat). In this economy, who can afford to be modest.

Anyway, finals are over and life has slowed down a little due to the fact that it’s been hard to get work. The positive in all this is that while I’m waiting I’ve been making jewelry like crazy. Here is one of my new upcycled pieces.

Easy Beezy Summer Collection

In Uncategorized on May 31, 2011 at 7:41 pm

I just added the Easy Bezzy Summer Collection to my treasury over at Etsy. Please stop by and take a look. Feel free to check out my shop as well. Leave a comment telling me about your best summer memory or plans for the summer and I will choose the best one to feature in my blog. (You can send pictures as well to make it more visually appealing).

I just started my shop, facebook page and my blog recently and it seems to be coming along nicely. Thanks!

The Creative Experience

I made a new necklace today. Something a little different than a lot of the other pieces I make but I love experimenting. My art teacher believes it’s both my strength and my greatest weakness. Ok, so I have a tendency to get distracted

and go off on seemingly haphazard and arbitrary tangents.  I eventually get to

the point where it feels like the whole process is just out of my hands. I then get to watch my work turn into something I love, or get systematically destroyed to

the point of being unsalvagable. Sometimes, it’s so worth it.

Quote of the Day: Said by my art teacher Una.

“You can’t be afraid to fuck up a few paintings.”
